While Viagra is available in many states through the online market and their local distributors, the government agencies are having a slowpoke bureaucratic clearance system to allow the drug in the mainstream market. Cialis and Levitra are not even available in major European stores because government approval requires lengthy clinical trials using the local population, mountains of paperwork, kilometric bureaucracy, and negative lobbying. Without an intelligent discussion ever being conducted in medical circles and university halls, lobbyists have mounted a negative campaign branding the anti-impotence drug as the new LSD of the 21st century sexual revolution or a new age. Lobbyists have pressured politicians not to allow the sale of erectile dysfunction drugs in the country as the latter would fuel moral decay, cultural debauchery, spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and breakdown of families. The negative campaigns remind us of how some parts of the establishment nearly brought down the tobacco industry.
Libertarians are against the notion that your body is owned by the Sate. Many campaigned against banning smoking in public areas, against government regulation on smoking marijuana, and against regulating gun rights. Many however believe that the owner of a public establishment has the right to regulate smoking within his premises as this arises from his property right. If someone does not want second-hand smoke, then he should go to non-smoking restaurants. People are governed by their choices. People go to fast-food restaurants every day, overeat, and probably die of aneurysm or heart attack. People smoke every day, and might suffer from emphysema in the future. People drink alcohol and get involved in a nasty car accident. People use Viagra for recreational sex, and suffer from eye-strokes (blurring of vision caused by lack of oxygen supply to the nerves). Who are we as a society to brand these people as bad ones? We could never determine what these people would like to do in their lives, because there is no possible way to determine the best for anyone to show their values and beliefs?
Your body does not belong to the State. If you want to buy Viagra online, no one should stop you. If you want to use the diamond blue pill, then go ahead because you are governed by your choices. If you want to use the pill for recreational purposes, you do not have to explain why. Society and the State are not the owners of your body. Marijuana was criminalized some decades ago and the criminalization of cigarette smoking is now a primary priority for some members of the Lower House in Washington. We just hope that the government stays away from our sex lives by not touching recreational use of Viagra and allow us to buy viagra .
