The led portion has another group of veins which are anterior and posterior tibial veins, small saphenous veins, great saphenous veins, femoral veins of thighs, external iliac common iliac and inferior vena cava. All these systemic veins in all parts of the body, helps carrying oxygenated blood from the heart and also to carry deoxygenated blood to the heart from all parts of the body. The portal vein is found in abdominal cavity and returns the venous blood from the spleen to the liver. It forms a small network of capillary like vessels, from which the blood is carried.
