Insurance Coverage and Viagra

The debate about the US Presidents Health Care bill has finally moved to the Senate. The issues that almost finished the bill in the House (220-215) were the possibility of a state-sponsored-abortion clinics, euthanasia for elders and insurance coverage for illegal immigrants. State-sponsored cure for erectile dysfunction might be a small issue but we may expect that some Senators would mention it. Whether the State will help us get over our erectile dysfunction days is an issue to be resolved by the US Senate in the coming months.

Erectile dysfunction, when included as a medical condition requiring treatment, would allow the State to give Viagra or other erectile dysfunction drugs to the people as part of their insurance coverage. There is plenty of opposition to this move by the state. People claim that Viagra is not exactly a medical treatment but rather a lifestyle enhancement or in other words sexual performance enhancer. This pushes the drug and ED from the coverage of health insurance. The cost of insurance is also too high. According to some conservative estimates, there are 30 million men suffering from impotence in the United Sates. That is like 10% of the entire population or 20% of the total male population. That is a lot of money for insurance companies and the proposed government insurance system to bear. This is the reason why many opponents of the health care system insist that the government should not interfere and the people should not pay for the lifestyle excesses of the few.

One reason put forward to reject insurance coverage of ED and Viagra is that diagnosis of erectile dysfunction depends on self-reporting, so it may be difficult to avoid additional costs for men who do not have erectile dysfunction and who wish to try to enhance normal sexual performance. These arguments can be defeated by the obvious reaction of consumers to quickly recognize that the product does not enhance sexual performance.

Insurance companies sometimes cover only eight pills a month for ED patients. One may do the math and it seems that your insurance coverage sentenced you to two intercourses a week or less. Several policies also cover penile prostheses.

Forget about the debate in Congress, the Tea Party enthusiasts and the insurance companies! Your erectile dysfunction problem is your business. It would be much better to keep the problem to yourself and tell the government not to interfere with your situation. An insurance policy covering your impotence is also not good especially if you care enough about your privacy. There is one way however get treatment buy viagra online.
